Updating a Cottage Garden;

I renovate my borders every 5 years.

Last Autumn I turned my attention to the Cottage Garden.

Preparation includes:Pruning shrubs, clearing out invasive plants and then adding manure.

In Spring topsoil  can helps to fill up areas that eroded.

Planting: Sometimes it may be necessary to draw up a new Planting Plan.

I have decided to increase the number of shrubs in my plot so that it has more interest the whole year round.

New varieties of popular species come onto the market.

Sedum, hellebores and ferns are good examples of this.

 It is a good idea to try new plants.

I have introduced Sanquisorba.

Bulbs are always useful.

I have increased the numbers of Cyclamen, snowdrops and alliums.

Now that the weather is improving I can stand back and view the results.

Gardening offers many hours of pleasure .

I think the neighbours will appreciate my efforts as well!
