Getting in touch with Nature.

How do we lift our spirits during the Winter months?

Sheffield university’s landscape institute has done work on this.

NDD or Nature Deficit Disorder relates  to the effects of spending a lot of time with artificial light.

This can make us more vulnerable to negative moods.

How can we bring back nature into our lives?

Contact with plants helps.

Small -leaved conifers ,such as junipers are good at capturing pollutant particles.

Fast growing trees ,like Paulownia lock up soil nitrates.

Dr. Cameron thinks that”any interaction with nature/green space seems to have some potential”.

Why not take time this Autumn to look at the beautiful foliage of the trees.

It will make a good break from Christmas shopping!
