The Nottingham Hardy Plant Society last night welcomed Tom Hart Dyke as this year’s special speaker.
I was captivated from the moment he opened his mouth!
First he described how his grandmother introduced him to plants.
He then became a plant hunter.
During one of his trips to South America he was held captive for nine months.
Luckily he was released and now recounts the tale.
We all need to have contact with people like this.
Their enthusiasm helps us all.
I have spent a hard week designing a garden.
This talk did me a lot of good.
Gardeners are such friendly people!
